Head Trainer
Job Summary:
Provide and/or oversee the training function within an assigned store, ensuring that training and career path development activities occur in a proper and timely manner. Incumbents also supervise team members in order to execute opening and closing shifts in a manner that creates a “WOW” experience and superior frozen treats for customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality and Service
Execute training activities and programs for the store as assigned by the Regional Trainer (RT); work with RT to ensure materials and processes are kept up to date.
Personally conduct or assign training for new hires and current employees as determined by the RT; coach employees and address learning issues; monitor and report progress to RT; keep Progress Charts up to date.
Execute assigned shifts; ensure proper staffing level, assign positions, delegate tasks, and observe performance; conduct travel paths, monitor product quality and quantity; meet expected food cost, labor cost, and ticket times; assist where needed to keep shift organized and running smoothly.
Complete additional duties for scheduled opening and closing shifts (e.g., cash management, product levels, reporting, communication logs, etc.).
Complete assigned administrative tasks (e.g., inventory, orders, deliveries, signage, etc.)
Resolve customer complaints to their satisfaction utilizing BLAST; correct repetitive issues negatively affecting the customer experience; handle customer incidents and injuries.
Integrity/Honesty
Follow and enforce health and safety procedures; ensure tools and equipment are used and cleaned properly with all required safeguards in place; keep building/contents secure; ensure work comp for employee injuries and crisis management procedures are executed quickly and properly.
Adhere to and ensure others follow proper food handling, sanitation, and cleaning procedures (e.g., mask when required, hat/hairnet; handwashing, avoid cross-contamination, etc.).
Comply with and reinforce all company policies, procedures, mission and values; help associates learn new menu items and support company initiatives; help conduct employee meetings.
Ensure employees and managers comply with all federal and state regulations.
Dependability
Hold pre-shift meetings; ensure the team is effectively working together and communicating in a positive manner; check and respond to store email each shift; set the tardiness/attendance example by arriving to shifts on time, working when scheduled, and following the leader attendance policy for absences.
Family and Leadership
Supervise, direct, coach and motivate to drive performance; provide regular feedback; discipline when needed; keep associates calm and focused during periods of high volume.
Develop positive relationships with the team; encourage associate development through career paths and provide training as assigned.
Portray professionalism though language, behavior, and appearance.
Participate in community events or marketing activities as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Minimum age of 18.
High School diploma/GED (or equivalent work experience).
Must have 100% completion of Waitrainer, achieved a Level 4 in all associate positions, and have had no written disciplinary action in the prior 6 months.
Ability to effectively train associates to perform the duties and expectations for all positions at all levels (1-4); knows how to match learning styles to individuals’ needs so learning is successful.
Possess a current, valid driver’s license and full-coverage insurance for vehicle.
Demonstrated ability to portray company’s mission and values.
Transportation that is reliable and available during various shift times and days of the week.
Skill Requirements:
Leadership, supervision, training/development, customer service, oral, interpersonal communications, team building, reasoning, problem-solving, multi-tasking, deadline oriented, fast-paced, prioritizing, adaptable to change, keyboarding, computer-based restaurant systems, computer software: Word, Excel, Outlook email, and other web-based programs, intermediate math and reading.
Additional Requirements:
Hours Availability: available to work 5 of 7 days/week and a minimum of 32 hours/week through the year.
Work Schedule: ability to work various days and hours of the week, including nights, weekends and/or holiday work, schedule may change each week and could include overtime, with or without notice, works without direct supervision. Travel: travel within market for business purposes.
Activity Requirements:
Constant: standing, walking, hearing, visual acuity. Frequent: equipment and/or register operation, talking, reaching, turning, pushing, pulling, lifting, up to and over the head, carrying, bending, crouching, wrist flexing and rotation, finger movement, grasping, feeling. Occasional: driving, balancing, ascending and descending ladders, stairs, ramps. Infrequent: sitting.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work: exerting up to 5 lbs. of force frequently, up to 25 lbs. of force regularly, and up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally to move objects.
Work Environment Requirements:
Work is on Site: subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions with temperatures ranging from 30° to 110° F, contact with equipment containing moving parts, exposure to noise levels up to 73 decibels * contact with chemicals, subjected to food allergens (e.g., nuts).
Company Property Assigned:
Responsible for the proper usage, care, and maintenance of all company property, buildings, equipment, software, data, uniforms, etc. The following assigned company property must be returned and in good condition at the end of each shift: shirt, headgear, and apron.
